NEW! Hand Died Yarn - New Bluefaced Leicester wool - Fingering - 100gr/400m - UPDATE!

This one is a superwash a little thiner than the old one. The colours are a lighter version of my last alpaca/silk. The difference is that this one is not variegated, the colors tones are mixed along the yarns. First I thought it was the new australian wool, but after it completely dryed and looked my stock carefully, found out I had an extra bluefaced pack and 1 less australian merino...
But the yarn is still great and soft :)

New 70% Baby Alpaca/ 30% Mulberry Silk still drying...

Here is my next hand dyed yarn, still drying and what looks brown is plum. No browns in the yarn...
I don't even know how to call it, it has several colors from silver grey to plum...It was totally improvised...

New 70% Baby Alpaca/ 30% Mulberry Silk coming soon...and Homesickness

Just finished to Dye two skeins of alpaca/silk totally by intuition...

Have no idea what will be the result and did the same to two discontinued australian merino superfine yarn I found undyed in my stock...
Lets see how it looks tomorrow or in 2 days (fog have been our  best friend these days :(
The experience involved at least 6 basic colors :) It will be a multicolored yarns but not a rainbow thing.
And I was very happy today to know my client in France loved the oxblood Silk lace skeins.
Always nice to see someone admiring your work and share it, something that is not a very great part of the culture in the country I live...for now! Worst. Felt for the first time in my life gender discrimination written in black and white!!!
You can break your ass working here and nobody cares, so different from Montreal..
And I'm so so so homesick right now...
And looking forward to knit like this again, but my brain is not ready. I'm even become dyslexic when I write any line and in any language...

Pure silk shawl "Morticia" pattern from boo knits in Ravelry find here:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morticia

My New Hand Dyed Yarn...Oxblood - Brownish Red . 70% Alpaga/30% Mulberry Silk.

The Fine Lace 100% Mulberry Silk is already gone somewhere in France and my supplier does  not have 100% Silk Fine Lace :(

So I did another Oxblood with Baby Alpaca and Mulberry silk, the closest I have to get the shine from the first one in lace version...

Of course, red is never the same with wool as it is with pure silk but I like the result.
Its a semi solid with some few darker hints and still have good shine from the silk. Beautiful :)

(Took the pictures away from the sun, at the end of the day, to show better the true colour.)

My website:
purplerainbowyarns.webstarts.com
(photos linked to my etsy shop)

But there is something new on my website. I notice that lot of knitters only need or can buy 2 skeins of fingering but if you don't reach the 110€ the shipping gets high.
So I create a "Buy Now" button for packs of 2 equal skeins (when available) for lower prices and shipping rate as of 1 skein in Etsy.

I'm thinking on making some mix packs, but it's something to do in a VERY organized way. Il trye to figure out if it's possible.

Hand dyeing is not like balls of wools in the shops, it's unique, made in small batches, have to think carefully what is good for the clients and avoid problems for me.

Giving the BEST care to my clients is n.º 2º half priority. The first half priority is making sure you get your yarns fast and very well protected and feel you have what you asked for!
Or totally refund!

Have a great weekend full of love :)

Here is the "abandoned" discontinued yarn "Teal"... will spend Valentine alone, it's pair is already prepared to go to Sweden first thing monday morning.

NEW! Hand Dyed Yarn - Oxblood Deep Red - Fine Lace 100% Mulberry Silk, Lace Weight Yarn 50gr

Was looking for a very deep bloody red, like oxblood which is not so easy with wool. But I think I got what I want. I used an over dying technique to achieve this colour. More work but a pure luxury fiber...no doubt. Now lets see if others liked... if they do, I might continue to dye pure Mulberry Silk. It's a solid colour the variations are due to natural light reflecting on the silk and I took photos from different angles.

Fine Lace Pure Mulberry Silk?

Good Afternoon :)

I am thinking about dyeing some fine lace yarns from pure Mulberry Silk...I don't use fine lace very much unless it's for a luxury shawl. Very fine yarn, but a real luxury for any woman.

Trying to think about which colors will bring out the best of this wonderful fiber...I love silk, but prefer to knit it mixed with some wool. Fine lace is a bit tricky to knit, maybe it's better for crochet?
All I know is that my last fine lace knitted purple shawl was just gorgeous! Don't have a picture of it but it is a pattern from Boo Knits (gorgeous shawls patterns!) you can see her patterns here:

http://www.ravelry.com/designers/boo-knits

The Shawl is named "Morticia", pattern on ravelry here:

http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/morticia

My silk yarns are skeins of 50gr and 500 meters each. Will trye to make the best of it :)

Have a nice Sunday :)
